Ultra Rear Rack Installation Instructions
Compatibility: The Ultra Rear Rack is designed specifically for the Blix Ultra.
Hardware:
4x M6 Bolt - 16mm
4x M6 Washer
1x Rear Light Extension cable
Installation:
Place a washer on each bolt
Place the rack onto the frame, there may be bolts already in the frame mounting points for that rack that can be used to install the rack. If so please unthread these bolts before placing the rack onto the frame.
Thread the two top bolts into the frame first using the appropriate allen wrench from your Blix Tool Kit, do not fully tighten the bolts yet.
When threading in the bolts down by the rear axle be sure to use the elongated slotted hole like the upper mount. The holes with the metal tabs around them will be used for foot pegs if purchased.
Once all the bolts are threaded in go back and make sure all four bolts are now tightened down all the way.
Hooking up the rear light
The Ultra rear rack has a tail light pre-installed and will need to be plugged into the system.
Use the rear light extension cable from the box and plug it into the light.
Zip tie the cable down the side of the rack on the same side as the brake towards the axle, Then you will want to zip tie the cable with the motor cable and run it towards the bottom of the rear battery.
You can also wrap the cable around the framing of the rack if you don't want to use zip ties.
Note if you have ultra fenders you can route the cable on the underside of the rear fender. There will be a hole close to the rear light used to slide the cable into, and some clips running along the bottom side of the fender to keep the cable in place, with one more hole at the bottom for the cable to exit by the bottom of the rear battery, then plug it into the system. For installing the light cable with Ultra Fenders, see the Ultra Fender installation guide.
The plug for this is going to be directly in front of the rear wheel on the bottom of the bike.
Under the bike, you should see a box with several cables coming out of it and heading into the frame of the bike just behind the front battery. The plug for the rear light will be one of these cables going into the frame, the end of the plug will just be inside the frame with a cap on the end, Cut the zip tie holding the cables together and gently pull the cable out of the frame and remove the cap exposing the plug with a cap on it, remove the black cap to see the red plug for the light. If you pull out a yellow plug please place it back into the frame as this is used for programming.
Note: When installing the rear light cable without the Ultra Fenders, there may be some excess length of cable. For installing the light cable with Ultra Fenders, see the Ultra Fender installation guide.
