Gears Slip and/or Chain Skips
If you notice that the chain will not stay in the correct gear, you may need to make a derailleur adjustment. Park Tools has a great guide to help you in this process, but if you are unsure, we suggest bringing your Blix to your local bike shop.
If your gears are slipping when you pedal hard, your chain or gears may be worn out. Check for chain wear and tear regularly using a chain-checker and replace whenever indicated. Most riders should replace their chain every few years. Frequency of use, weather, terrain, pedaling style, and maintenance will affect how often your chain must be replaced.
