Blix Extended Protection Plan (Extended Warranty and Accidental Damage Protection)
Blix has a partnership with Clyde to offer an Extended Protection Plan that covers your bike in the case of mechanical or electrical breakdowns, including breakdowns due to normal wear and tear.
Who is Clyde?
Clyde is an insurance technology company that has built a marketplace of top-rated insurers and administrators. Clyde enables Blix to offer our customers great product protection coverage. We work closely with Clyde to manage our Protection Plan program.
What’s included in the Extended Protection Plan?
The Extended Protection Plan covers your purchase from:
- Mechanical and electrical breakdowns which occur after the Blix standard warranty expires
- Mechanical and electrical breakdowns from normal wear and tear
What is not included in the Extended Protection Plan?
The Extended Protection Plan does not cover:
- Accidental damage
- Cosmetic damage, like scratches or dents that do not impact your Blix's functionality
- Damage from third-party assembly or third-party maintenance of your Blix
- Loss or theft
Are batteries covered?
The Extended Protection Plan does not cover the battery.

When does the Extended Protection Plan begin and end?
The Extended Protection Plan begins when your Blix is delivered and continues for the entire period of both your Blix Comprehensive Warranty (1 year) and the Extended Protection Plan term you selected at purchase (additional 2 or 3 years). You are covered for multiple repairs up to the value of your original Blix purchase price.
The Extended Protection Plan begins on the day the Blix Comprehensive Warranty (1 year) expires as shown in the following table:

Do I qualify for Extended Protection Plan options?
The Blix Clyde-backed Extended Protection Plan is available to you if all of the following are true:
- You are a customer in the United States of America (excluding territories)
- You purchased directly from Blix
- Your Blix 1-year Comprehensive Warranty has more than 60 days left prior to expiration
When are you ineligible to purchase a Extended Protection Plan
- Customers cannot purchase a Protection Plan after an accident occurs
- Customers cannot purchase a Protection Plan after the Blix 1-year Comprehensive Warranty has expired
- Customers cannot purchase a Protection Plan if the Blix 1-year Comprehensive Warranty has less than 60 days left prior to expiration
How do I purchase a Extended Protection Plan?
There are three ways to add an Extended Protection Plan to your product:
- The Blix Website
- You can choose the Extended Protection Plan option at checkout when purchasing your product
- Through link in post-purchase email
- If you did not select the Extended Protection Plan at the time of your product purchase, you will receive an email from Blix offering the option to add this protection. You can click the link in the email which will direct you to the Clyde website. When using the emailed link to purchase a Blix’ Clyde Extended Protection Plan, there is no need to create a Clyde account prior to purchase of the plan.
- Directly from Clyde’s customer portal, HiClyde.com
- It will be necessary to create a Clyde account prior to completing the plan purchase through this method. You need to use the same email address that was used when purchasing your product from Blix when creating an account to link to your Blix sales order.
How can I file a claim?
To file a claim via Blix, contact Blix support.
To file a claim on hiclyde.com, you have two options. You can log into your Clyde account, select the appropriate product, and click “File a Claim,” or you can file a claim as a guest by entering the Contract ID found in your confirmation email into the homepage on hiclyde.com. You typically receive an update on your claim within 48-72 hours and can view the status of your claim in your Clyde account.
Can I file multiple claims?
Yes, you can file multiple claims using your Extended Protection Plan during the course of the contract’s term. You are covered for multiple repairs up to the value of the original product purchase price.
If your claim is approved for a replacement product, then your contract is void. You will have the option to purchase a new protection plan for your replacement on hiclyde.com.
Is there a deductible?
There are no deductibles.
Is the Extended Protection Plan transferable?
Yes, this Extended Protection Plan may be transferred to any person in the United States. To initiate the transfer of an Extended Protection Plan, contact Clyde at protection@hiclyde.com.
Does the Extended Protection Plan provide coverage for theft or lost items?
No, this Extended Protection Plan does not cover for loss or theft.
Can the Extended Protection Plan be canceled?
Yes, Extended Protection Plans may be canceled via contacting protection@hiclyde.com. Reimbursement will be prorated based on time remaining on the contract and reduced by value of any claims previously covered. A full refund is available if the cancellation is made within 30 days of purchase.
